Kasey Bass is a designer and an actress, stunt actress, model, and educator. Her brand, KaseyBassSwim, has grown quickly over the last 6 months and has been shown at New York Fashion Week, Texas Swim Week, and at Miss Bikini US.
How would you describe your style being labeled as luxury swimwear?
My swimwear is constructed with luxury fabrics, and a unique combination of hardware and body jewelry that you can’t find anywhere else.
How do you think the brand stands out amongst other brands?
I use a modular design that is unique among any swimwear. The pieces come apart, and can be reassembled. The fabric and the hardware can be exchanged to completely change the look.
Tell us about your recent show at fashion week, how was the experience?
it’s very exciting to have the opportunity to show your designs on a stage like that. I was honored to be able to and thrilled to be able to share my new designs, especially a redesign of the men’s trunks, the addition of new hardware on the bikini bottoms, a new shape for the triangles, and removable skirts that trail behind.
What is the backstory of the brand? Why swimwear?
My brand emerged from I need I saw in the swimwear industry. As a model myself, I saw the way that swimwear didn’t always fit every body type and it seemed wasteful to me to continue to purchase new swimsuits when I wanted new looks instead of just being able to modify what I had. Because of those things I decided to create designs that would allow me to continually redesign my pieces, and as I grew as a designer, I saw the benefit of that for my models as well. My designs are very flexible and look great on any body.

When did you begin designing?
I’ve been drawing and sewing since I was a child. It’s something the women in my family always did. But I started actually building a collection this last summer. My first runway show was July 2024 at Miss Bikini US.
Do you have a story or message behind the designs? Where do you find inspiration?
I feel inspired all the time, by what I see in nature, by my favorite artists like Dorothea Tanning, by shapes I feel attracted to and want to explore. Most of all, I feel inspired to create by my kids who live and dream fearlessly.
