When it comes to organization, the name Stephanie Jurik is consistently referenced around town. Think The Home Edit, but the Upper St. Clair edition. Stephanie has an eye for design and a knack for transforming a space into a functional, utilized system. Her business, Organized by Nature, is a go-to in the area especially when it comes to big moves or just a general closet or pantry project. I needed advice when it came to my own organization for the garage project. “To keep it simple, contain and label! Keep similar things together in a location you would use them most often. Purge annually or more often to keep down on unnecessary clutter,” Stephanie says.

Stephanie was one of the designers I was privileged to chat with for Upper St. Clair TODAY Magazine and she was kind enough to share her organizational tips with us. You can look for the Upper St. Clair Home issue this spring.
What are your top organizational tips?
To keep it simple, contain and label! Keep similar things together in a location you would use them most often. Purge annually or more often to keep down on unnecessary clutter.
What have been some of the bigger projects you’ve worked on?
The biggest project I’ve worked on was assisting on a move of an 8000 sq ft home. I’ve also had a handful of clients that I’ve organized their entire home, from attic to basement.
When preparing your home for spring, is there anything that you advise people to clean and organize?
In addition to rotating seasonal clothing, spring is a great time to organize and declutter those toys and playrooms! The kids are still in school, get those spaces organized to make it easier to clean up over the summer.

What inspired you to start your own organizing business?
I’ve always loved organizing and decorating my own home. It was actually the encouragement of my husband that helped me to take the leap. I was in medical sales for 10+ years and although I loved it, I was ready for a change. My husband’s support made it possible. Being able to help my clients eliminate stress while also being creative with some design is my dream come true.
What have been some of your favorite projects?
My favorite projects will always be bedroom closets and pantries. Although I love seeing the before and after of any project, those are always the most satisfying. Being a woman and mom, I love making those spaces more enjoyable for my clients to help ease some daily stressors.
