About

Charissa Lauren is reputably known as “The Carrie Bradshaw of PR.” As a National Publicist, Writer, and CEO of FAME by CL, she uses her first-hand experiences in the entertainment industry to position creative professionals publicly.

A stage background in theater, pageants and modeling introduced her to the fast-paced industries of fashion and entertainment where she worked entry level with companies Victor’s International Modeling Agency, Barbizon Model & Talent, The Talent Group, Miss Pennsylvania USA, the Fashion Board at The Mall at Robinson and Nancy Mosser Casting. Privileged to work on the set of blockbuster films Adventure Land, She’s out of my League, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Zac & Miri and Jack Reacher with Mosser Casting, the entertainment business stuck.

Charissa Lauren

Charissa has worked with clients internationally since starting her first business at 22. Though she works with clients nationally, she chose to keep the business in Pittsburgh devoted to growing the local industry. “Working in the industry, I’ve seen true struggle for fashion or beauty brands starting out simply because they were not New York or LA based. I wanted to change this,” Charissa is quoted in an interview with PR Couture. She was named a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Stiletto Women in Business, twice nominated for the Athena Young Professional Award, a recipient of the Jefferson Award for Public Service, nominated for Yahoo! Women Who Shine and honored by Pittsburgh Magazine’s Women in Business Spotlight.

Testimonials

"I am totally AMAZED by Charissa! As a black female new to the entrepreneur world, I have struggled with finding a PR firm that didn’t invalidate my business goals or make me feel less than. I love that Charissa's success is with clients from so many backgrounds, races, and cultures. It's what convinced me to give her a try. I'm super glad I did!

I’m great at my craft but have never been good at selling or promoting myself. Charissa has made this part easy. In my one month of working with her, she's walked me through opportunities to develop my brand, not just promote it, and has already gotten me 13 successful placements. I am much more confident in where I am and where I am going because of Charissa. She loves people, and it shows. I highly recommend her. "
